Video Games and Building Blocks

So, last night I finally got my Roman to Arabic/Arabic to Roman numeral converter working 100%. Its been sitting at about 90% finished for quite some time. I was in bed the night before last, thinking about it and the solution to my problem became clear. I did what I thought I needed to do – and it worked. Course, there were a few little things I had to deal with because of the changes to the code since changing one thing tends to send ripples through the entire program.

As the title says, 18 days till Backlash. I’m getting really pumped. It should be so good. Even if the best part is only the fact that I get to see HHH and HBK’s entrances, I’ll be happy. Thus far, the card seems like it should be fairly decent. We have Edge v. Kane (which hopefully Edge can make AWESOME), Christian v. Jericho (if the WM match is of any indication, this should be a good match), Foley v. Orton (Hopefully something awesome happens like…Hell in a Cell), and finally, a rematch of the Triple Threat at WM. These matches all have the potential to be great. Lets hope they are. And lets hope whatever else gets added to the card is good. I’m personally thinking having Benjamin wrestle would be good, but I’m not sure against whom.

I’ve pulled Israel for my Middle-East Diplomacy game. I’m fairly certian I’m fucked. Its kinda like being Italy – you might be able to survive for a while, but without a miracle, you most likely won’t win. Though, with a bottle of wine on the line, that could be interesting.

DX open house was a great time. I met some of the guys (who were really awesome), watched the Oilers suck and played some foos. I really enjoyed myself. Next Monday (Frat Bar Night), is DU Date Auction. I’m probably going to go, for the pure entertainment value of it, as some have said its the best event of the year. I’m looking forward to it.

I don’t feel like going to CMPUT 204 today. So I’m not. Yea, that makes me an awful person and shit, or something. I’ve been to more classes this year than Steve Smith has in his entire University Career. So, what to do instead of class? I’m thinking either playing NHL 2004, or writing more in my ‘all about me’ list, which I’ve decided to make into a Top Ten. I’ll select categories and give my top X answers. Most likely 10. If you have a category idea, let me know so I can keep the info relevant to those that may care.

So, I completed all 96 exits in Super Mario World last night. There’s only one ‘cool’ thing about it. Whe world changes to fall colors, and some of the enemies are different. Ho-hum! At least in Super Mario Land, they made you re-do the game, but harder! Though, I can’t imagine the Special world being much harder than it already is…especially Outrageous.

I haven’t heard anything about the jobs yet – so I’m still anxiously awaiting on those. Hopefully I hear soon.

Tonight is Delta Chi open house. I’ll be going to check everything out, since I haven’t really seen the house. Should be good times.

Steve Smith appears to be more involved with the ESS than I am these days, as shown by his attendance on the Alberta Cup Run. But thats ok. I gave my time to the ESS. Its time for some new blood. Good luck with it Wade, Gary, et al.

I only have 5 exits left to clear in Super Mario World. This has been my single greatest acheivement in my life. Ok, thats a lie. But it’s up there.

So, I was reviewing my traffic this morning. I have a few interesting visitors finding me from Google. They found me through google, with the searches: “now residing in atlanta” benoit and what happened on wwe raw last monday 3/21/2004. So, apparently if you’re looking for the WWE, you get me. Thats fairly interesting.

Last week was pretty busy, and I doubt that it will get any better in the upcoming weeks, with the end of the semester looming. I still have a few programs to finish up for CMPE 210, which need to be completed sometime before the final exam. They look fairly involved, so hopefully I can finish them. I really need to pass that course.

I’ve added a ‘Things About Me’ link on the sidebar, however its fairly empty right now. I’ll try to fill it up as soon as I can. I haven’t quite decided what style I should use though. Should I do more of a numbered list of things (like it is now), or should I do more like Steve’s? Any comments on this matter would be helpful.

I sure don’t.

I’ve been up working on an assignment for the last while (I was on a break for the last entry I wrote). I’m finally done, but I should have been done earlier in the day. The thing that was preventing me from doing that was the fact that I didn’t really understand what we were being asked for. I hate when assignments are relatively unclear as to what is expected to be handed in. Oh well, I have something, hopefully it works.

Anyway, it has come to my attention that S. Murray Smith has learned how to play Hoedown, possibly the most adaptable and enjoyable drinking game ever. What do I mean by adapatable? There are many variants of the game: Urban, Lower Canada, CompE, and others I can’t recall. This game can be applied to almost anything, and that is why it is so great (On top of the first rule).

Also, I was asked to join a Diplomacy game with Paul Welke and some people he knows. I’m quite excited about it, as we are playing a variant map (The Middle-East) which should make the game alot different. I’ll keep you updated as to how I’m doing in that.

Speaking of diplomacy games, I royally fucked up again. I forgot to submit my builds in one game. Fortunately, I won’t be causing myself too much pain (unlike the time I did that in the other game). However, it may be a detrement in the end. We’ll see.

Without a blog post. To my readers, I appologize. I was working on school work. Actually, I wasn’t.

Friday was my interview for Ombudservice Director. It went decently. I thought I did better in my InfoServ interview. I’ll be happy if I get either one though. I’ll be able to make a visible difference to students.

Its 21 days till Backlash. I’m pumped. Not sure what to expect though. Only the one match on the card thus far is Benoit v. HBK. I’m expecting Edge to be in action as well.

I had my first interview today. It was for Director of Information Services. I thought it went quite well. Time will tell on what the NomCom has to say.

My day was boring as hell. I went to class, fell asleep, wrote a quiz, came home, went to my interview and then I’ve been programming since that ended. *Snooze*

I’m a big fan of “techno”. What most people call techno now adays is just everything electronic. Techno really isn’t that. But whatever. If you care, you know there’s more to it than just calling it Techno.

Since I’ve never really been a part of the ‘scene’, I’m always struggling to find myself new artists and styles. Which kinda sucks. Though, it does let me get to know a few artists quite well. For instance, I own almost everything released in North America by the King of Big Beats, Norman Cook (well, its more like Fatboy Slim and Norman Cook releases, since I don’t have any Pizzaman or Mighty Dub Katz). Most of his stuff is great, granted, it was “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Praise You”, which are both enjoyable songs but if you start to explore Fatboy greats like “Michael Jackson”, “Weapon of Choice”, “Right Here, Right Now” will become much more enjoyable than those two larger releases. If you haven’t had a chance to hear or see the music video for “Weapon of Choice”, I highly recommend arranging a chance to listen. The song is quite upbeat and always energizes me. The video is highly amusing becuase it has Christopher Walken strutting his stuff around a hotel.

So, today I stumbled upon DJ Amber (from San Fran). She’s got a few demos on her website, which I’ve been listening to since I found her. I’m enjoying it. I’ve always thought that anyone that can mix in realtime like DJs do must be really talented.

April 2, Walking Tall opens. This movie looks like it will be good times. I honestly think the Rock brings a great energy to a movie (course, that just could be because I’m a fanboy) and is developing as an actor. Other movies that are on the way that I’m fairly excited about are: Kill Bill Vol. 2, Troy, The Cooler, The Punisher, Alien v. Predator and Van Helsing (course, this is just a list of movies with trailers, theres a bunch that don’t have trailers yet that I’m anxiously awaiting as well).

So, if anyone out there knows of an artist I should check out, drop me a note. (Steve, I already have all the Cohen I’d ever need).
